Having lived in New York, Rio de Janeiro and now San Miguel de Allende shaped my life and consequently influence my ceramic sculptures.
Working with earth, fire, glazes and using my hands as the primary tool of creation is an intensely personal artistic experience. If truth be told, I am essentially a ceramist working intuitively while simultaneously having a dialogue with the clay.
When I look, feel and begin to create an object from a cluster of clay I never truly know what it will become. Slowly I undertake the journey and my inner nature endeavors to define my hand built, low temperature technique into amorphous organic figures which are often abstract.
During my creative process there is initially a chaotic period where I experiment, analyse and reflect upon the direction the clay should pursue. If at conclusion the piece brings a smile to my face and a song to my heart then, and only then, do I consciously choose to share it with others.
My career spans more than a decade and many of my pieces are in private collections in North and South America and Europe. Please enjoy my work.
