Kato Rempel has always followed her curiosity and love for creativity wherever it leads.
Born in Vancouver, BC, she spent over a decade in digital graphic design during the early days of the tech boom.

After 14 years in the industry, Kato decided to shake things up—packing her bags and moving with her family to Southeast Asia. Sri Lanka became her classroom, where she soaked up new cultures, art, and architecture. It was there that Kato fell in love with oil painting.
What started as a spark quickly grew into a full-blown passion.
When she returned to Canada, she settled in Kelowna, BC, and studied with inspiring artists like Kristy Gordon, Jerry Markham, and John Barry Raybould.
After more than ten years thriving in the Western Canadian art scene, Kato took another leap—this time to Mexico. In 2023, she launched an Artist Residency in San Miguel de Allende, creating a space for artists to recharge, create, and connect.
Today, as a Senior Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Kato continues to explore new styles and techniques, always chasing the next spark of inspiration.

Kato Rempel siempre ha seguido su curiosidad y su amor por la creatividad, sin importar a dónde la lleven.
Nacida en Vancouver, Columbia Británica, pasó más de una década trabajando en diseño gráfico digital durante los primeros años del auge tecnológico.

Después de 14 años en la industria, Kato decidió darle un giro a su vida: hizo las maletas y se mudó con su familia al Sudeste Asiático. Sri Lanka se convirtió en su aula, donde absorbió nuevas culturas, arte y arquitectura. Fue allí donde Kato se enamoró de la pintura al óleo.
Lo que comenzó como una chispa pronto se transformó en una pasión profunda.

Al regresar a Canadá, se estableció en Kelowna, Columbia Británica, y estudió con artistas inspiradores como Kristy Gordon, Jerry Markham y John Barry Raybould.
Tras más de diez años prosperando en la escena artística del oeste canadiense, Kato dio otro gran salto, esta vez hacia México. En 2023, lanzó una Residencia Artística en San Miguel de Allende, creando un espacio para que los artistas se recarguen, creen y conecten.

Hoy, como Miembro Senior de la Federación de Artistas Canadienses, Kato continúa explorando nuevos estilos y técnicas, siempre persiguiendo la siguiente chispa de inspiración.
